Life of Pi and the Archetypal Imagination


“The Rose in the World” recently published an article I wrote on Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, one of my favorite books. It haunted me for years, and then David MaGee’s screenplay organized it lyrically and Ang Lee’s cinematography and spiritual insight brought it to life. Oprah named it as one of the dozen books that has captured the imagination for the past decade.
